A Great Plan

The old has gone and the new has come, 2026 is here. There's a sense of excitement and hope for new opportunities and experiences as many anticipate the best is yet to come. However, others are plagued
with grief from the loss of a family, friend or loved one. Then, it could be, new year but same old ways. If the old is useful then keep it, right! But, some things need to be renewed. For a wretched sinner like me, the old must be swallowed up by the new.
The reality is after much of the sparks and fire works of the New year celebrations, there can be much uncertainty and anxiety about how to move forward. What to do next? How to do it and can I? When? Where? Why...? For what purpose? The myriad of questions and plans that we make can be overwhelming at times. Even more so when things do not go as planned and the realization hits that we do not control it all.
Nevertheless, it seems inevitable that new resolutions would be made, afterall, that's what people do. Some even resolve not to make a resolution because they are too hard to keep, while others just keep trying to overcome. According to Proverbs 19:21, There are many plans in a man’s heart, Nevertheless the Lord’s counsel—that will stand.
As long as we are living, we are moving forward in one way or another. Maybe slowly with weight or baggage from the past, painfully from scars of broken relationship or hopeful that things would change for the better. Whatever state you are in, you are not alone. We were not made to walk this road of life alone and figure it all out. 2 Corinthians 1:3-6 ESV
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, [4] who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. [5] For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too. [6] If we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; and if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which you experience when you patiently endure the same sufferings that we suffer. The children of God can take rest in this promise.
We were made to fulfill God's purpose and depend on him while doing so. This does not mean trouble or challenges would not come. JESUS said In this world we will have trouble but take heart I have overcome the world. This is a promise that there is strength to draw from the one true and living God who not only overcame the world but made everything.
It does not take a new day or year to bring lasting change for the good.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. Thus, it take a person, Jesus Christ, he did the work so change can come. He died for sinners and is risen so that we can be set free from sin. Victory is already won in JESUS. Resolve to trust him in every season.
