For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son ... - John 3:16

For God so loved the world that He sacrificed.

For we so love the world that we become self-absorbed and selfish.

For God so continues to love the world, giving grace upon grace, mercy without end.

For we so continue to love the world that we grow entitled.

Love yourself. Love your spouse. Love your children.

Then love God more.

Lose yourself? Lose your spouse? Lose your children?

God never leaves.

There is a season and a time for showing love.

There is a day to give and receive tangible expressions of love.

But which love is it—

the love of giving,

the love of the gift,

or the love of sharing Godly love?

For God so loves the world that He loves unconditionally.

And when we truly love,

we love with patience and kindness,

without envy, without boasting, without pride.

Not rude. Not self-seeking.

Not easily angered. Not keeping a record of wrongs.

Not delighting in evil, but rejoicing in truth.

Always protecting. Always trusting.

Always hopeful. Always persevering.

Remembering this: love never fails.

So if the teddy bear, the chocolate, the money,

the roses, or the diamond ring do not come wrapped in that kind of love then...

keep it.
