Sunday Reflection: GOD Is Still With You
There are seasons in life when you may not acknowledge Him.
There are moments when you cannot see Him.
There are times when the pain is so deep that you wonder if He is even there.
But the truth remains:
GOD is still with you.
He was with you before you ever knew His name.
Before your first breath, He knew you.
Before your parents knew what you would become, He formed you in your mother's womb.
He was with you in the disappointment.
In the loss.
In the shame.
In the unanswered prayer.
In the moments you smiled for everyone else while quietly breaking inside.
Don't believe it?
Then ask yourself;
who placed breath in your nostrils?
Can you catch the wind and hold it in a jar?
Who painted the morning sky and hung the moon in the night?
Who gives the sun its light and still causes it to shine on you, even on the days when your heart feels dark?
And what about that secret place? The place no one sees?
The thoughts you don't say out loud.
The desires you hide.
The battles you fight silently.
Who meets you there?
You can hide from people, but you cannot hide from HIM who is omnipresent. El Roi!
Sometimes His presence comes as conviction.
Sometimes as tears.
Sometimes as an uncomfortable stirring in your spirit that refuses to let you remain the same.
And sometimes, His presence is simply the quiet strength that carries you when you don't even know how you are still standing.
That is the beauty of God.
He doesn't abandon us because we cannot see Him.
He doesn't leave because we don't acknowledge Him.
He remains.
Through every valley.
Through every mountain.
Through every beginning and every ending.
And as I celebrate my 50th birthday today, I find myself looking back. Not at a perfect life, but at a life that has been carried by HIS grace.
Fifty years of lessons.
Fifty years of answered prayers and unanswered ones.
Fifty years of joy, tears, victories, mistakes, losses, growth and grace.
And through it ALL…
GOD has been with me.
If you take nothing else from this Sunday reflection, take this:
Wherever you are. Whatever you have done. Whatever you are facing. Whatever you cannot understand: God is still with you.
Maybe you don't feel Him today.
Maybe you cannot see Him.
Maybe you have even questioned Him.
But His presence is not dependent on your perception.
He is still there.
